This project started in February 2014, in France, when the French parachute federation issued stringent regulations for helmet cameras, as a result of concerns about potential snatch points.
This gave me the idea of designing a helmet that would fully integrate a frontal lodgment to house a GoPro 3 or 4 type camera, thus eliminating completely the security concerns. After some months of design and trial, the Skyvision helmet was born.
The camera is easily accessible from inside. It takes all of five seconds to position or to take out.
The camera is fully protected from the outside, with apertures to access the control panel and the buttons. Even with the helmet on, manipulating the controls remains intuitive.
The internal lining has been designed with a saddler, meeting demanding specifications for comfort, soundproofing, insertion of audible altimeters, and ease of use. The internal lining is fully removable, washable (lukewarm), and has one slot on each side to house an audible altimeter.
The fact that the internal lining is fully removable means that in case of damage or faulty manipulation, you can order it separately, thus avoiding the cost of full replacement.
The protection plate of the camera is in aluminum, with a choice of colours that allows for customization of your helmet (red, green, blue, silver).
The top of the helmet is flat, which allows for another camera.
Although, by design, there is no chance of line snag, the helmet has a quick release system to comply with the French regulation.
